Dr. Michael Hier
My name is Dr Michael Hier and I am an Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck Surgeon. I have been an academic surgeon for 30 years. I am a Full Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery as well as Oncology. I have been the Department Chief at an academic hospital since 2010. I am also the Co-director of our advanced fellowship in head and oncologic surgery. My surgical practice centres around treating patients with head and neck cancer, which includes mouth, throat, salivary gland, and thyroid cancer. I also operate on patients with parathyroid problems.
My office practice outside the hospital now focuses on seeing patients in a private setting. I have the opportunity to assess patients with various complaints in the head and neck region. I am enjoying this phase of my career because of the relaxed nature of the patient visits and the opportunity to learn more about my patients.
